Brooklyn - Friday Evening FHT

Whether it was by a phone call, carrier pigeon or just plain handwavey goodness, the word got out that there was a Brooklyn in the multi-verse that was in trouble. Lucky enough there were a few good denizens of Fandom who were willing to help.

Coming through the portal right by the Brooklyn Bridge, it was readily apparent that portions of Brooklyn was in chaos. Buildings and people were "glitching" where the images of them shifted colors and shapes. For the buildings this was causing instabilities. For the people it was causing them pain.

And then there were the gremlins. They were now running around Brooklyn doing their biting thing on the populace of Brooklyn which added another layer of chaos to a borough that was already seeing enough weirdness.

Time for you all to big damn heroes, right?

The cowl was different (kind of like A-Train, actually) and now that she was looking through it to his face she could see he clearly wasn't Jensen Ackles Soldier Boy.

But wow - okay, this was some actually compelling evidence of alternate universes, if you asked Starlight.

"Sorry," she apologized, clearly embarrassed. "I know a guy back home who - looks like you. Not in the face, but in the - everything else." She gestured to his costume

"You have a Captain America, too?" Steve asked, grinning. "That never stops getting strange to hear."

"We have a Soldier Boy," she corrected. "But he's totally doing your whole deal." Shield and everything.

A pause, and, "Captain America is a better name, though."

"It really is," Steve had to admit. "My best friend goes by Winter Soldier?"

"Also a better name," Annie decided. "I also know - okay, know of - a guy named Homelander, and he also does a whole like, USA motif thing."

'Captain America' had probably been on the whiteboard for the meeting where Homelander had figured out his name, she felt. Huge missed opportunity.

"Well, red, white and blue are very striking," Steve said with a laugh. "Homelander's an interesting name to choose."

Your whole schtick, Steve. Not to mention Really Strong Guy Who Could Fly's.

"I'm Starlight, by the way. I liked your speech."
