There was a small sigh of relief, followed by a triumphant grin as she tore a piece of pastry off and popped it into her mouth, as if she'd actually done anything to stop that deeply seeded concern that gaining a second cat would be the first step down a path she did not want to wind up down.
Well, second step. Getting Pancakes at all was sort of the first step, and that had been a whole thing.
"Oh, no," she said confidently. "Pancakes and Issa are totally cat besties already, they've had play dates and everything, and if either of them act up, I can just threaten to take them over to Furnado, and neither of them wants that."
