The doors to the warehouse were closed. Locked down tight. After the conversation with the mayor and... weirdly now working for a local government (How the fuck did that happen?), Barry had closed up Dite's and started putting his next experiment to work.

It it involved an emergency portal trip to Barry's old basement and pulling out a piece of equipment Ramaat and-

Yeah. Well that was a long time ago. And technically it never happened. Time travel was weird that way.

Cut for fake science and bad memories )

[Doors closed. Post open. Trigger warning for character death/troublesome memories under the cut.]

It had been almost a week since Barry had attempted to call Roxie. Which had resulted in unpleasantness.

So he made sure Sara wasn't around for this phone call. )

[Establishy. NFI as I'm going to be busy doing other nerdy stuff tonight]

The island had moved Sunday. All thoughts of catching up with Roxie back home went out the window as Barry spent almost all day trying to determine the method of movement and how the changes occurred.

"Fuck!"

As usual, Barry could find no scientific reason for it. Now the extradimensional pockers? He got that. How it happened to his pockets and added items he had no reason to think he put there (ladder, shovel, etc)?

"Fuck!"

Yep. No scientific reason for that either.

And when he found out that any money he had was turned into bells?

"Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!"

Well that certainly put some roadblocks in replacing some of his equipment.

Finally Monday rolled around and after yet another sleepless night, Barry finally got around to calling Roxie. )

Barry hung up still pinching the bridge of his nose, trying to keep the headache away. Yeah. That went well.

In cases such as these, Barry knew the best remedy. Turning around and getting back to work and desperately trying not to think about it.

After singing and a handwavy trip to get some ice cream, Barry headed back to the warehouse to take a break from the chaos that had come along with parents weekend.

He hadn't even entered the building when he saw someone show up on the monitors.

"Fuuuuuuuuuuck meeeeeee," he groaned and turned around to look out the door.

"I know you're out there. You might as well fucking come in."

[Initially for one. Open after that if you want SP]

There were times that Barry felt he wasn't a very good son. This was probably one of those times.

There probably wasn't a square inch in his parents' house that Barry didn't have some form of monitoring in place. So when the email notification reminding his parents of the upcoming weekend, Barry had swiftly removed it from his parents' inbox.

As for the invitation that was sent to his parents house via the postal system, that was removed from the inbox by one of his retrieval units. He then sent the form back with the names of his friends back home.

Did he feel a twinge of guilt? Possibly. But he felt safer knowing that his parents would remain oblivious about Barry's brain and the nature of Fandom. It would just be easier that way.

His friends had been dealing with weirdness since they were kids. They could handle Fandom. And honestly his friends literally knew him better than his parents and he missed having them around.

So right now he was hacking into his old school's email system to inform his friends' parents of an upcoming weekend fieldtrip in order to provide cover for Roxie and Jeremy. As well as the attendance records to ensure their absences weren't noticed.

As you do...

[I might be a little excited for PW. Going into SP but open...]

Barry was back in his portion of his warehouse running experiments on a certain device which was sitting in the middle of a block of ice.

While he waited for the results on the most recent readings, he did something he hadn't done for a while which was initiate a connection to his remote lab back in his home dimension. He had shut down most of the operating equipment there but for one reason or another he was looking at the GPS tracking system he had in place for his friends and family. (Some people might call it an invasion of privacy but Barry had reasons, okay?) Looking at his scanner he could see the two blips for his mother and father. There was another two blips which were practically on top of each other representing Jeremy and Roxie and then... there was the single blip for Sara.

Barry stared at the screen for few moments taking it all in before terminating the connection and going back to his experiment. This was no time to be homesick or missing people.

There was science to do.

In a fancy hat.

As you do.

[Open Warehouse. Open Post. Subject to SP this evening.]
