Last week while Barry had been doing a survey of the island, he had found a perfect location for his new lab/workshop in the land of abandoned warehouses on the Southwestern portion of the island. The space was perfect and the power supply was... well he was going to upgrade that anyway.
After making arrangements through a Portalocity approved shipping service, Barry was all set to move in and was waiting for his shipment to arrive and get his lab set up.
The only problem being that someone had already locked up the warehouse with a series of sophisticated locks and alarm devices.
"Fuck that!"
Which is why Barry was in the process of bypassing those locks and alarms to get to his warehouse before his lab equipment arrived.
Except he might have tripped one tiny-itty-bitty motion sensor detector. Oops.

Which, roughly translated, meant, 'Nuclear? Nope.'
Then he looked back at Barry.
"Solar. And we double that recipe. Edge is still starving after that meteor came down."
Not half as badly as it once was, since Reno had helped the WRO set up a rudimentary hydroponics system, and Karla and Aerith had done their magic land-healer voodoo on at least some of the desert out there. But it still wasn't pretty.

"Left out the reactor meltdown, the giant monsters, the planet's life force comin' up through the ground and spreading the infected cells of a million-year-old evil space bitch all around..."
Doomsday had kinda been pretty thorough on Gaia.
"... Like, all of the fucking pollution, though the sky ain't really the color of spinach-encrusted nosebleed snot anymore..."
Really, really thorough.

In addition to my regular shipment I'm going to need some pool supplies, the entire collection of Punky Brewster on betamax and five cases of delicious chocolate Yoohoo. No. The fucking code word is delicious chocolate Yoohoo, I don't fucking want five cases of Yoohoo."
He clicked off his phone. "My shit will be here in twenty minutes. Oh, and unless I tell you otherwise, don't touch my shit unless you want a fucking ecological disaster on this island."

Date: 2014-05-19 06:13 pm (UTC)Barry was geeking out on the inside. Two different worlds and technology.
Oh, yeah baby.
And he was totally going to have to figure out this language of theirs. Just to make sure they weren't cussing at him in a different language.
