Brooklyn - Friday Evening FHT

Whether it was by a phone call, carrier pigeon or just plain handwavey goodness, the word got out that there was a Brooklyn in the multi-verse that was in trouble. Lucky enough there were a few good denizens of Fandom who were willing to help.

Coming through the portal right by the Brooklyn Bridge, it was readily apparent that portions of Brooklyn was in chaos. Buildings and people were "glitching" where the images of them shifted colors and shapes. For the buildings this was causing instabilities. For the people it was causing them pain.

And then there were the gremlins. They were now running around Brooklyn doing their biting thing on the populace of Brooklyn which added another layer of chaos to a borough that was already seeing enough weirdness.

Time for you all to big damn heroes, right?

Okay. This is bad. In the middle of Bushwick there was a giant gremlin spider thing terrorizing the neighborhood.

This might take a bit of muscle.

Luckily Adora had lots of muscle, and even more as She-Ra. Transformed and sword in hand, she charged towards the spider gremlin.

Giant spiders. Why was it always giant spiders?

Well it's gremlins and a Spider-Verse. Honestly this was bound to happen.

The gremlin let out a hiss as it spewed a web out at Adora and attempted to crawl up the building.

"Oh, no you don't."

Adora dodged out of the way of the web and transformed the sword into a whip, aiming it for one of the gremlin's many legs.

The whip entangled around the leg and the Spider Gremlin let out a hiss attempting to yank Adora toward itself than try and get away.

And maybe take a bite out of Adora as well.

Adora braced herself and in what was possibly one of the most ill-advised games of tug-of-war ever kept steadily pulling on the gremlin.

There was a ripping sound and it wasn't coming from any webbing. It was the sound of a spider leg being ripped off the gremlin's body. As ichor dripped from the wound the gremlin let out a loud screech of pain and spat another blob of webbing at Adora.

Adora dodged the webbing again, but got spattered by the ichor. Ew.

Since she couldn't get any more gross, she picked up the spider's leg and threw it at it.

That... was a very good throw.

Hitting the spider-gremlin in the eye socket. The gremlin only made a loud gurgle before it fell to the ground and didn’t move again.

And then the area around Brooklyn began to shimmer and... Well it all finished up at the bottom thread.

How about some muscle, a hero complex and a shield?

"Hey!" Steve yelled. "You break the good coffee shop and there's gonna be a riot! Cut it out!"

The gremlin turned its head to the guy in the flag costume and let out a hiss...

And smashed the window of the nearby coffee shop.

Bring it Flag Boy.

"Oh, now you did it," Steve muttered, flinging his shield at one of the legs.

There was a screech and a scream as yet another leg was removed from the gremlin's body. This time it was a nice clean cut on the leg as opposed to a tear. It lashed out in pain and spat a huge blob of webbing back at Cap.

Steve flipped out of the way and caught the webbing only at the bottom of his boots. He caught the shield on its physically speaking, unlikely ricochet and glared. "Stop it," he said.

Funny. The Gremlin spider didn’t seem to want to stop. Missing two legs it screamed once again at Flag Boy and hobbled toward him spewing out another blob of web at him.”

Steve, being two movies away from interacting with webbing, trying to stop it with his shield.

The webbing hit the shield with the Gremlin now trying to yank the shield and maybe Steve along with it.

Was it cackling right now?

It was totally cackling because Steve and his shield were flying back towards him.

Because Steve was going to try to ride a Spider Gremlin. Like a dumbass hero!

The shield bonked the spider-gremlin right in the noggin and before it could even recover there was now a hero on its back and he was not liking it. It started to buck around like a bronco horse in a rodeo which it was doing pretty well considering it lost two legs.

This was fun! Steve took a grip on--well, he wasn't going to look too closely because it was probably a major ick--he took a grip on something, balanced himself by squeezing his thighs and then smacked the spider square in the head with his shield.

And just like that the spider-gremlin went down for the count with a shield shaped divot in its head.

Cap probably had gremlin goo on his gloves though.

And as he the spider gremlin fell to the ground the rest of Brooklyn lit up... and that bit finished at the thread at the end of the post.
