You know where they had a lot of showy, sparkly electricity? Coney Island.

Starlight's eyes had been glowing for awhile now, but when she got to the roller coaster, the every light in her vicinity started to spark as she absorbed their power.

"Hey!" she yelled, shooting off a blast towards a pack of gremlins to get their attention. "Over here!"

A few of those gremlins got nice and toasted from that energy blast.

The rest turned their heads and started racing towards Starlight throwing various items available to them. Including a lot of hot dogs for some reason.

Well, that was new.

She had no choice - she had to let some of the hot dogs hit her in the name of aiming for gremlins, and she was just going to really hope she didn't end up covered in condiments. (Or she could stop wearing all white to go superheroing but it was kind of her look, okay?)

She shot off a few blasts towards the approaching gremlins before picking up a nearby metal trash bin and flinging it their way with a loud grunt.

Well some of those hot dogs had mustard on them so it kind of went with the outfit?

Still the blasts hitting those gremlins turned them either to toast or to something that was charred enough to try and at least crawl away.

However there were plenty of more gremlins to take their place.

Starlight almost felt bad, but then she noticed that there was, indeed, mustard on her skirt.

Damn it.

And because they'd made her mad, the nearest gremlins were getting a blast right to their fucking faces.

The gremlins began to melt away like wax, green globs of grossness spewing everywhere.

Other gremlins began to strategically retreat to a operation of the track above Starlight.

"Oh no you don't!" Starlight couldn't spend too long on the oh gross factor of the melting gremlins. She made sure she was clear of the track, pulling power from the lights illuminating it.

Bulbs shattered, sparks flying as she shot three blasts in quick succession up at the retreating gremlins.

As the gremlins retreated there were some that died off gruesomely, but the majority of them had been working on the top of the roller coaster.

And when Starlight caught up she would probably see that a group of the gremlins had freed a roller coaster car and were now trying to drop it on her.

Which they succeeded in doing. Her reflexes weren't quite that good, and this was the most intense fight she'd been in for awhile.

Starlight caught the majority of the impact in her shoulder and side, getting knocked to the ground in the process. She let out a noise somewhere between a grunt and a yelp, then shoved the car off of herself and scrabbled back to her feet, firing off huge blasts indiscriminately towards the gremlins as she did.

There were a lot of loud cackles coming from the top of the roller coaster.

That is until Starlight pretty much put an end to them on a massive amount of blasting.

"Nice light show!" Dante bellowed encouragingly from atop the rollercoaster, his white hair falling messily over the grin on his face.

He was having fun.

From:

"Thanks!" Starlight could admit it - she was having a lot of fun. Fighting funny little aggressive monsters was oddly sort of satisfying, and a nice break from petty criminals. "Nice sword!"

Seriously, that thing was a beast.

"Thanks!" Dante called, grinning.

It was technically a part of him, so he was just gonna take it as a personal compliment.

"How many of those things can you take out in one blast?" he yelled, hurling himself off the top of the rollercoaster with a graceful flip moments later.

"Whoa," Starlight commented lightly. She was used to people dropping into a superhero entrance stance next to her, sure, but the flip was pretty sweet. "Like - three to five at once, depending on how much they're clustering?"

And they didn't seem to have a problem clustering up. Starlight almost felt bad.

Dante grinned the unabashed grin of a natural show-off at her, and threw in a little wink to boot.

"Well, c'mon," he called, "Show-off, I wanna see some sparks fly!"

Well, if she had requests, she couldn't disappoint.

Starlight grinned over at him, then pulled more of the power from the rollercoaster into her. Bulbs sparkled and broke as she charged up, and Starlight turned to blast an oncoming onslaught of gremlins.

"Make that three to five with each hand," she amended before grabbing a nearby park bench and throwing that towards the stragglers.
